How to Join a Yahoo! Group
No matter what your hobby, there are so many people interested in the same thing. Yahoo Groups is an online community where you can find other people with similar interests and interests.
To join the groups in Yahoo you follow these steps:
Step 1: Sign in to your Yahoo account if you already have a Yahoo email account. For those who do not have accounts yet, you will quickly have an account within minutes of registration. Then, click on "Groups" at the top of the screen to access Yahoo Groups.
Step 2: Find the group
+ Find a group by browsing. Choose from the different categories listed on the main Yahoo Groups page found at www.groups.yahoo.com.
Business & Finance, Computers & Internet, Family & Home, Government & Politics, Hobbies & Crafts, Romance & Relationships, School & Education, and more.
Start a search for a group by clicking on any of these categories.
Clicking on the group name will display a description of the group.
+ Find a group by searching. If you know the name of the group you want to join, you can search for it.
Use the search box at the top of the Yahoo Groups page and type the keyword for the group you are looking for.
Click the "Search Groups" button next to the search box to start your search.
You may have to try a few keyword combinations until you find the right group.
Step 3: Join the group
+ Join the group you are interested in. Once you have found a group, ask to join.
On the group page, click on the "Join Group" link.
If the group is restricted, the group owner or administrator will need to approve your request before you can join the group.
If the group is open, you are automatically added to the group.
Once you are in the group, you can access messages, photos, files, and everything else posted on the group.
+ Share your membership info. Choose what to share with others in the group.
Select alias (display name). The default alias will be your email address.
Share your email address.
Decide how often you want to receive notifications from the group.
Confirm your selection by typing the text that appears in the box. This helps verify your identity.
You can change the frequency of emailing groups for you at any time. Go to the Edit group members home page and click the edit icon next to the Subscribe button.
Change the display name (alias) by logging into your Yahoo mail. Click "Settings" then "Account". Click "Edit" on the right "Yahoo Account" and enter the new name in "Submit Name".
